Get ready to unearth your true potential and dig into the exciting world of HEI Civil!We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator with experience in civil construction to join our team in our Austin, Texas office. Responsibilities:Sound organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, Geotech.Prepare bids, select vendors/subcontractors and estimate 'self-performed' crew compositions and production rates.Make scope of work determinations and perform quantity take-offs.Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients. Communicate and collaborate with wide range of individuals, including both Operations and other Estimating team members Additional responsibilities as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, means, and methods); supervision, estimating, schedules, budget, and safety. Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements. Valid driver's license. Experience with Agtek Earthwork take-off software is preferred.A desire to learn and growWillingness to cooperate in a team environment. Demonstrate 100% detailed understanding of project scope. Demonstrate knowledge of Heavy Civil construction. Specifically, earthwork, underground water, underground wastewater, underground drainage and street/highway construction.Education and Experience:EducationHigh school diploma or GED (Bachelors Preferred).ExperienceOver 8 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil construction projects, including structure projects, and experience estimating projects ranging from $1M to $50M.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:• Prolonged periods of sitting• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds• Office-based work with varying temperatures.• Occasional travel to jobsites with fluctuations in weather.Job Type: Exempt, Full-timeSalaryBased on ExperienceBenefits (available after waiting period):Paid Time Off (PTO)Six Paid HolidaysHealth InsuranceEmployer paid private FAMLI through Principal401K with a discretionary match$10,000 company-paid life insuranceVoluntary dental, vision, life, and Colonial supplemental insurance
