As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Estimator to support our growth and contribute to our success.Position SummaryReporting to the Chief Estimator within the Commercial Pre Construction Department, the Senior Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive project estimates. This position will also collaborate closely with our Operations and Estimating Support teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and strategic alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full bid process, including bid recap, proposal writing, and bid form completionAttend bid review meetings and incorporate addenda, scope changes, and breakouts into estimatesLead internal project reviews and take off team coordinationPerform detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze project plans/specificationsIdentify and resolve missing scope, labor, and material pricingReview vendor and subcontractor scope letters for accuracy and completenessMaintain communication with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate pricingSupport pre-construction efforts by aligning estimating capacity with sales and marketing goalsApply market knowledge, customer needs, and internal capabilities to develop competitive strategiesContribute to the development and refinement of estimating processes and proceduresWork independently with minimal supervision while supporting departmental goalsQualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating or a related role within mechanical contractingStrong knowledge of piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systemsExperience estimating system costs across various building types and applicationsAbility to develop conceptual estimates from narratives or preliminary designsFamiliarity with construction project presentations and client interviewsProficient in interpreting plans, specifications, and contractual documentsWorking knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering principlesProficiency with computerized estimating tools and Microsoft Office SuiteBenefitsCompetitive salaryPaid vacation and holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchLife and disability insuranceCareer advancement and training opportunities
