Summary/Objective:The Senior Safety Coordinator will be self-sufficient in managing safety on the assigned project. Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment that complies with legal and company regulations while fostering a safety conscious culture. This role provides expert guidance on workplace safety, conducts risk assessments, and delivers training to employees and subcontractors.Essential Functions:Safety Program ComplianceEnsure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies and other regulatory requirements.Serve as a key source for interpreting and applying safety regulations.Training and EducationConduct safety training sessions (OSHA 10/30, equipment safety training, etc.)Act as a subject matter expert in safety best practice and risk mitigation strategies.Educate employees and subcontractors on proper safety procedures.Incident Investigation and Reporting:Lead investigations for workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents.Work with leadership to develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.Report all safety-related incidents and compliance issues to corporate leadership.Site Safety Audits & Risk AssessmentConduct regular site safety inspections and hazard assessments.Identify potential risk and collaborate with project teams to implement solutions.Provide recommendations for continuous safety improvement.Safety Leadership & InfluencePromote a culture of safety by engaging with project managers and site teams.Advise company leaders on best practices and industry safety trends.Act as a liaison between the cooperate safety office and field operations.Supervisory Responsibility: NoRequired:A minimum of 6 years' experience in industrial construction safety; or, equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceAssociate's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field (or equivalent experience)OSHA 500 Instructor CertificationKnowledge of OSHA 1926 - Construction Industry Standards.Strong ability to communicate safety policies effectively across all levels of the organization.Proficient in Microsoft Office software.The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following: Work Environment:Works in a professional construction site office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment Physical Demands:This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines This role routinely requires walking the plant/jobsite(s)Travel:May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight)Preferred:Prior military experienceSenior Safety Coordinator
