Join our Distribution Center and be the driving force for our store's merchandise!As the Operations Manager, you will assist the DC Sr. Operations Manager in coordinating assignments for all DC Staff, oversee scheduling, ensure inbound receipts are accurately processed in accordance with daily processing goals, and ensure outbound shipments are properly transferred.LocationDistribution Center, 3755 W Sunset Road, Suite A, Las Vegas, NV 89118Schedule: Night Shift (A2): 4:00 pm - 12:30 am | Monday - FridaySalaryup to $75,000BenefitsEmployee DiscountEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceDisability InsuranceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Parental LeavePaid Time Off401(k) with company matchJob ResponsibilitiesPlans, initiates, and executes day-to-day responsibilities; ensures daily workload plan for all departments and associates are executed to the highest degree of efficiency and accuracyIncorporates effective continuous process improvement, focusing on best practicesResponsible for ensuring effective training for all new hires and associatesManages, reports, and corrects deficiencies in process control and/or other assigned KPIsAble to work extended hours as neededEnsures DC equipment is being operated within WHSmith safety standards and all HHT devices are accounted for dailyWorks closely with DC Sr. Operations Manager to determine staffing requirements; conducts interviews and hiring according to WHSmith standard practicesEnsures the DC is kept clean, organized, and in accordance with WHSmith standardsMonitors supplies (security ties, shipping cartons, etc.) and notifies DC Sr. Operations Manager when re-orders are neededMonitors, reports, and corrects safety deficiencies according to OSHA and WHSmith standardsCompletes required accident reporting forms and procedures (i.e. drug screen) following any workplace accidentAssists in DC loss prevention by enforcing all applicable security procedures (i.e. monitoring of entrance, exit) and keeping dock doors securedMaintains confidentiality of company sources and informationEnsure effective performance management and feedback for all associates and subordinate leadersConduct themselves in the spirit of the WHSmith mission, vision, and core valuesOther duties as assignedJob Requirements4-5 years' general distribution center/warehouse warehouse experience 2+ years' leadership experience in a supervisory/manager role in a distribution center/warehouseGeneral Knowledge of warehouse technologies such as WMS, YMS, conveyance, and/or other technologiesPass certification training and yearly re-certification on sit down lift trucks and order pickersSafely operate other DC equipment such as pallet jacks, rental scissor lifts, hand trucksStrong verbal and written communication skillsAdvanced computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and people skillsDesire to work as a team with a results driven approachAbility to multi task and problem solveSatisfactory Criminal Background Check and Drug Testing requiredOvertime and weekend work may be requiredAdditional RequirementsLimited sittingFrequent standing, walking, climbing, crouching, bending, pushing, or pullingLimited travel or overnightNormal or corrected vision and hearingCan distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materialsFluency in English is required for training, customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresOccasionally outdoorsFrequently exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 90 degreesLift up to 50 lbs.Use of fine motor hand functionsAbout UsWHSmith is a leading global travel retailer with over 1,700 stores across 30 countries worldwide.
