Director of Development

Position OverviewUtah City, a groundbreaking downtown development focused on creating a vibrant and walkable mixed-use community, is seeking an experienced Director of Development. This Director will help lead and manage the project's land development strategy. This position plays a direct role in creating development proformas and analyzing development strategy. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in mixed-use real estate development, real estate finance, and a strategic vision for world-class growth in a master-planned urban environment.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Development & LeadershipDevelop and execute comprehensive strategies for land use, real estate development, and economic growth aligned with Utah City's vision.Advise leadership on development trends and opportunities.Real Estate & Financial AnalysisReview, evaluate, and prepare development proformas, financial models, and feasibility studies for each phase of the project.Analyze returns and project risk for proposed developments.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Finance, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in mixed-use, multi-family, retail and office development.Strong financial acumen, with experience evaluating development proformas.Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.Preferred:Master's degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or Finance.Key CompetenciesStrategic and financial thinkingReal estate and development expertiseEconomic development insightLeadership and team managementNegotiation and deal structuringUnderstanding of infrastructure and urban design principles
