We are seeking an experienced and energetic Sous Chef to help lead our fast-paced, high-volume team. This role supports daily back-of-house operations, ensures consistent food quality and speed of service, and provides strong leadership for a team handling Italian, Tex/Mex, or a steakhouse. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, leads by example, and maintains high standards in cleanliness, safety, and execution.Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily prep, service, and closing operations in a high-volume concession settingLead the BOH team in executing standardized recipes and prep across multiple stationsMonitor speed of service, ensuring quick ticket times and consistent product qualityUphold cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards alwaysAssist in staff scheduling, labor control, and daily deployment based on business volumeMaintain accurate prep pars, reduce waste, and control food costsCommunicate clearly with FOH and expo to ensure guest satisfaction and order accuracySupport onboarding and training of new cooks and leadsStep in for the Chef when needed, including supervising the line and communicating with leadershipWhat We're Looking For2–3 years of culinary experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen1+ year in a supervisory or lead cook role preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tickets and tasks with urgency and attention to detailServeSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferredFlexible availability including weekends and holidaysStrong understanding of FIFO, basic food costing, and prep managementA Sampling of Our BenefitsOur team enjoys a comprehensive benefits package, including:Career growth opportunities with promotion from within401(k) matching, paid time off, and holiday compensationHealth, dental, and vision coverage for full-time associatesEmployee appreciation events, discounts, and perks at all resortsEducation assistance programs to help advance your careerBe Part of Something ExtraordinaryAt Kalahari, we're proud to be recognized by Forbes as one of America's Best Midsize Employers and by USA TODAY as the 1 Best Indoor Water Park.
