Role: UX/UI DesignerAbout Downstream Downstream is a global team of designers, technologists, developers, and project leaders creating impactful brand experiences for some of the world's most dynamic companies.Primary Job DescriptionThe User Experience Designer will collaborate with our multidisciplinary design teams to shape meaningful digital experiences that effectively realize the goals of our clients. The User Experience Designer will be on the front lines of the ideation process bringing form to user interfaces, problem solving, and applying strategic thinking to unique, site-specific digital platforms that include large format touch-screens and Audio/Visual configurations.The User Experience Designer will also play a research role and contribute the design process by objectively validating and quantifying the effectiveness of our design decisions. This research role includes identifying exercises and process related approaches that will give the team actionable insight that will inform an iterative approach to design. Supervisor Responsibilities The Downstream leadership team will work with you to establish personal goals annually. These goals will be set collaboratively to create clear expectations for growth and development. The leadership team will also partner with you to manage junior staff, build productive design teams, and contribute to business success.Essential Duties and Responsibilities4+ years experience in User Experience DesignProven track record creating successful experiences for Fortune 500 clientsChampion principles of usability and user-centered designPassionate about creating best-in-class user experiencesProven ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneouslyExcellent written and oral communication skillsOther DutiesTranslate abstract concepts into simple and elegant user interfacesCreate concept models, user interface sketches and detailed schematicsWork closely with designers and developers to ensure the success of design systems Participate in the brainstorming and creation of concepts for best in class user experiencesParticipate in discovery workshops and stakeholder interviewsDevelop user personas and scenariosDetermine business requirements and feature setBuilding content strategies and narrative that support a world-class design team Realizing design concepts and building long-term client successEstablishing efficiencies in executing content concepts, thematic narrativesContent frameworks, use case scenarios, headlines and scripts
