Your expertise will help achieve the correct depth, grade, and finish while maintaining strict safety standards and meeting production goals. You'll work alongside a team that values professionalism, precision, and getting the job done right the first time.Your Responsibilities:Operate asphalt paver safely to meet project requirements and production targetsAdjust equipment settings to control asphalt depth, grade, and cross-sectionCollaborate with the paving crew to lay asphalt and assist in other tasks as neededConduct routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and minor repairsReport any major maintenance needs to supervisorsAdhere to safety protocols, wear proper PPE, and promote a safe work environmentStay aware of surroundings, including team movements and equipment activityBe flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and extended shiftsWillingness to travel and stay overnight as requiredRequirements & Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of paving equipment operation experience, preferably in road, highway, or bridge constructionSolid understanding of heavy equipment operations and safety proceduresAbility to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issuesPhysically capable of lifting 50-90 lbs, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in various conditionsComfortable working around heavy machinery and construction materialsAdaptable to changing job sites, hours, and travel demandsReliable transportation to/from the Albemarle office or job locationsWillingness to perform manual labor as neededAble to work independently and as part of a professional teamPreferred Qualifications:Valid driver's licenseClass B or higher CDL, or willingness to obtain Class AExperience with automated controls on paving equipmentAbout Our Client: This family-owned highway construction company is based in Albemarle, NC, and brings decades of experience in paving, grading, asphalt production, and recycling.
