Location: Woburn, MA Vaxess is developing a pipeline of next-generation vaccines and therapeutics on our novel micro-array patch platform. With only five minutes of wear-time on the skin, the self-applied patch enables up to two weeks of sustained delivery. The platform combines high temperature stability with simplified application to dramatically alter the way that drugs are delivered. Vaxess is committed to enabling products that are not only more effective, but also more accessible to patients around the world. The Automation Technician plays a pivotal, hands-on role in the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong commitment to lifelong learning and adaptability, given the rapid advancements in automation technologies. As a key contributor, the Automation Technician will be instrumental in the successful upscale of manufacturing operations. This individual will work closely with and provide critical support to the automationteam, significantly influencing the strategic growth and future direction of the organization's technological capabilities.ResponsibilitiesProficiency in troubleshooting automated systems and hardwareAssist in building and assembling custom automated equipment, test fixtures, and prototypes.Contribute to continuous improvement to increase safety, efficiency, and quality of manufacturing.Run experiments on prototype equipment Give feedback and draft reports on the execution of the experiments. Draft manufacturing and maintenance SOPs Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and manufacturing activities.Assist manufacturing when needed.Qualifications5+ years in a maintenance or technical position Ability to lift 35lbs and stand or sit for an entire shift. Ability to work in a laboratory and cleanroom environment being gowned in a lab coat, shoe covers, hair net, safety glasses, and gloves.Experience in Electrical/ controls/ mechanical troubleshooting of automated equipment and components Medical device orpharmaceuticalsmanufacturing or related experience, especially in high volume automated production lines, is a plusFamiliarity or knowledge of machine vision, motion control and PLC platforms, general programming a plusExcellent time management skills and proven ability to meet goals and deadlines.Demonstrated abilities to learn new skills, creatively solve challenging technical problems, think independently, and work collaboratively in diverse multidisciplinary teams.Entrepreneurial spirit and drive to positively impact global human health.
