Herman Construction has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Superintendent with expertise in complex, ground-up multifamily projects, particularly podium construction with structured parking. The ideal candidate is a proven leader and mentor, capable of managing large project teams while also coaching and developing Assistant and Lead Superintendents.The Senior Superintendent will have ultimate responsibility for the onsite execution of the project, ensuring that schedules are created, maintained, and met. This role requires excellent communication, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to foster a safe, collaborative environment with subcontractors and team members.Must have a minimum of 15 years' experience within the multifamily sector, with a strong track record leading podium and structured parking projects.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead overall on-site construction operations from groundbreaking to project closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at every stage.Develop, maintain, and drive the master construction schedule, ensuring milestones and final completion dates are achieved or exceeded.Provide direct leadership and mentorship to Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff, cultivating accountability and professional growth.Coordinate sequencing and logistics for podium and structured parking construction, ensuring smooth integration with multifamily components.Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with budgets, schedules, codes, and quality standards.Oversee safety programs and enforce compliance, ensuring a safe working environment for all project personnel.Maintain proactive communication with Director of Construction, General Superintendent, Project Managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors to resolve issues and keep work progressing.Implement and manage quality control plans and maintain accurate documentation of project progression.Foster strong relationships with clients, design partners, and subcontractors to maintain project alignmentEnsure a secure, clean, and organized job site, representing the company's commitment to professionalism and excellence.Requirements15+ years of progressive experience leading large-scale multifamily projects (100+ units), including podium/structured parking and/or garden-style construction.Prior role(s) as Lead Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on comparable projects.Expertise in construction scheduling, sequencing, cost control, and field engineering practices.Proven ability to create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, contracts, and related documents.Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop field teams, instilling accountability and high performance.Extensive industry experience required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field a plus.Physical RequirementsAbility to walk, stand, and move around active construction sites for extended periods of time.Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate uneven surfaces safely.Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 50 lbs. as needed.Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and varying weather.BenefitsWe offer an environment that encourages professional and personal growth, an excellent benefits package, and a family culture.
