Job Title:Events AssociateLocation:Washington, DCFLSA: ExemptGENERAL SUMMARY:District Wharf Properties, LLC is hiring an Events Associate to join its dynamic Partnerships and Programming team. This role will support the ongoing event operation needs of The Wharf "” a 3.3 million square foot mixed-use development along the Potomac River in Washington, DC. The project includes a diverse blend of retail, residential, office, hotel, maritime, and entertainment spaces. This position reports to the VP of Partnerships and ProgrammingRESPONSIBILITIES:Compile all key event information into a comprehensive overviewGather all information regarding vendors, suppliers, exhibitors, entertainers, and any other event participantsAssist in outreach to potential partners and vendors to determine participationParticipate in walk-throughs with event organizers and participants to determine good working event layouts and identify areas for follow-upEngage in a pre-event debrief meeting with the Wharf operations team to review the event run of show and layout, and flag any areas of support neededHelp to create load-in and out plans for the above and be on-site to oversee Maintain a presence on-site during the event as a key point of contact for vendors and event participantsEnsure client invoices are sent according to contract deadlines, and collections are kept current.Perform other duties and projects as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Strong written and oral communication skills, and willing to adapt quickly to changeRemains calm and solution-focused when handling high-pressure situationsMinimum of one year's experience working onsite in an office environment or comparable experienceA certificate or course of study in planning, project, or event management is helpful but not required Reliable transportation required; some local travel is a part of this role Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications required. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is helpful Must be familiar with posting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, although this is not a primary function of the roleMust be able to lift 25 pounds and work in an outdoor environment.
