Firm OverviewSunrise Affordable Housing Group ("Sunrise") is a real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition, development and operation of affordable-rate multifamily properties across the United States. We target properties with LIHTC restrictions, Section 8 HAP contracts, and other affordability components. Our current portfolio includes a mix of LIHTC and Section 8 properties, designated for both family and senior residents, with concentrations in the Southeast and West. Our leadership team has an extensive track record in affordable housing acquisition with leading developers before launching Sunrise. We are headquartered in Palm Beach, FL, with additional offices in New York and Los Angeles.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Development Associate to support the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing through disposition. This position will focus on originating opportunities, underwriting and analyzing acquisitions, leading deal executions, and managing junior team members. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and brings direct industry experience in affordable housing development or acquisitions.In this role, the Development Associate will:Source and evaluate affordable housing acquisition and development opportunities through broker networks, personal relationships, housing authorities, and direct owner outreachUnderwrite acquisitions and developments by preparing detailed financial models, development budgets and execution strategiesManage transaction execution and due diligence, including coordinating third-party reports, legal review, and financing sourcesDraft and present investment memorandums and presentations for internal committees, investors, and external partnersMaintain pipeline tracking and internal reporting on active projects and opportunitiesSupport portfolio management by monitoring budgets, schedules, and funding sources, and assist with refinancings and dispositionsOversee junior team members by reviewing work products, ensuring accuracy, and providing actionable feedbackBuild and maintain relationships with brokers, lenders, housing authorities, and development partnersCollaborate with senior leadership on business development strategies and implementation of best practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field3-6 years of relevant experience in affordable housing or real estate acquisitions and development, private equity, investment banking, or related real estate fieldsStrong Excel financial modeling skillsExcellent organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple transactions simultaneouslyStrong communication and relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholdersSalaryCompetitive salary starting at $200,000 annually. Equal Opportunity StatementSunrise is an equal opportunity employer.
