For more information, please visit our website at We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Dentist with 3 to 5 years of hands-on clinical experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of dental procedures and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care. Prior experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center FQHC is strongly preferred.Independently perform comprehensive dental procedures, including but not limited toDental restorationDental palliative treatment for emergency patientsAnterior and premolar root canal therapyExtractionsCrown and bridge restorationsFabrication and fitting of removable prostheticsDeliver preventive and restorative dental services such as exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and endodontic treatmentsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical historyProvide both routine and urgent care, including palliative treatments and pulpotomiesCollaborate with patients and their families to coordinate care that aligns with the patient's overall health and dental treatment goalsMaintain accurate up-to-date patient records in compliance with FQHC and regulatory standardsPrescribe medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and patient health statusParticipate in community outreach and dental health education initiatives to promote preventive care and empower patients to make informed oral health decisionsAdhere to organizational protocols, including Open Door policies and proceduresProvide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to General Practice Residency GPR residentsMaintain a high level of organization and time management in a fast-paced clinical environmentQualificationsDoctor of Dental Medicine or Surgery, from a CODA-accredited institutionCurrent New York State license without restrictions in New York State before the start dateCompletion of a one-year General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General DentistryPrior experience in federally qualified health centers or at an academic setting delivering patient care is desiredExcellent diagnostic skillsOutstanding "chair-side manners": patient-centric with empathy, excellent active listening, and communication skillsOutstanding clinical capabilities and judgmentResponsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environmentFamiliarity with appropriate documentation and compliance for public health dental practices and the ability to adapt to existing electronic health records systemsExcellent judgment and ability to prioritize resources where they will be most usefulComfortable receiving and providing feedback and coachingEngaged in lifetime learning and continuous quality improvementOutstanding written and verbal communication skills with a culturally diverse patient and staff populationPassionate about providing quality oral health care to low-income, underserved residents and those lacking access to health careProficiency in the Spanish language is desiredThere are many fantastic benefits to a career at Open Door Care Network.
