SUMMARY:As part of the Flood Brothers Team, the Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all company owned vehicles which includes Box Trucks, Semi Trucks, passenger vans, and trailers.SCHEDULE:This is a full-time position that requires flexible hours with occasional weekend, evening, and holiday work. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this critical position.COMPETENCYStrong analytical and mechanical skillsProblem solvingTime ManagementEffective interpersonal relationship skillsComputer literacyESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maintain and repair fleet equipment and perform scheduled preventative maintenanceDiagnose vehicle failures, disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessaryComplete all necessary documents and input all required information into the fleet maintenance software (Samsara for vehicle record keeping)Must respond to service repairs in the fieldCoordinate any tows required back to the Flood Brothers shopArrange any mobile tire replacements as requiredInspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipmentMust be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Flood Brothers safety and maintenance policiesCommunicate with the Operations Department regarding vehicle issues, repair statuses, and vehicles required for service.Make and received calls from drivers regarding vehicle issues and down vehiclesMaintain a clean and safe work environmentPREFERRED SPECIALTIES:Experience with repair/replacement of lift gatesUsing diagnostic computer softwareProficient with wiring diagramsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended length of time throughout their scheduled working periodThe employee is required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controlsThe employee must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platformsThe employee must be able to safely work in all weather conditionsGiven the frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace, the employee must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environmentThe employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbsQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent3+ years on fleet maintenance experienceValid Driver's License with no major moving violations in the past 5 yearsCDL not required but preferredMust be able to pass DOT Physical and drug testOwn or possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results requiredTRAVEL REQUIREDNone.
