Senior Estimator - Mechanical

Job DescriptionHighland Consulting Group a construction specific recruiting firm specializing in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Estimator for a growing mechanical contractor in the Long Island, NY area.Our client is a full-service mechanical contractor expanding its team to support commercial design/build and retrofit projects with values up to $3 million. This is a permanent, on-site position with no overnight travel.Key Responsibilities:Develop master budgets and cost models for HVAC, piping and controls projects working from initial estimate to proposal.Provide conceptual and hard bid estimates for new builds, retrofits, and service projects.Maintain and enhance cost databases for improved estimating accuracy.Solicit and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and vendors.Deliver independent change order estimates.Support pre-construction cost estimating and project planning.Qualifications:5+ years of estimating experience in commercial mechanical construction (HVAC, piping and controls).Strong background in commercial new builds, retrofits, and service projects.Experience estimating projects of up to $3 million.Ability to develop budgets, establish timelines, and produce accurate cost estimates.Experience with negotiated and plan-and-spec estimates.Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.Computer software proficiency using Excel for estimating.A four-year degree in construction management or a related field is preferred but not required.Salary range for this role is expected to be from $110,000.00 to $150,000.00 depending upon experience.Benefits:This company cares about and is committed to the well-being of its employees and their families.
