Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Primary CareLocation: Bellingham, WashingtonCompensation: $23.00 - $25.00 per hourJob Type: Full-TimePosition Summary:This is a fully-time on-site role for a Certified Medical Assistant located in Bellingham WA. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in both clinical and front office operations within a primary care setting. This dual-function role supports providers and patients by ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional customer service from check-in to check-out.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:Greet and room patients; obtain and document vital signs, medical history, reason for visit, obtaining last visit notes and/or lab resultsAssist providers during exams and minor proceduresAdminister medications and vaccines as ordered by the providerPerform in-office testing (e.g., EKGs, urinalysis, strep tests) and collect lab specimensPerforms venipuncture and capillary blood collection as required.Ensure proper documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) AdvancedMDMonitor inventory and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and clinical suppliesOther duties as assignedFront Office Duties:Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous mannerManage patient check-in and check-out processesVerify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or paymentsSchedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up visitsAnswer multi-line phones and respond to messages promptly and accuratelyMaintain patient records and ensure HIPAA complianceOther duties as assignedQualifications:Certification: Washington State Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA-C) and current Healthcare Provider BLS CertificationEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited MA programExperience:One-year clinical experience in primary care or outpatient setting preferredKnowledge of insurance verification, medical billing, and front desk workflowsSkills:Strong communication and organizational skillsProficient in EMR system (AdvancedMD)Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentProfessional, patient-centered attitude with attention to detailWork Schedule:Full-time Monday - Friday 8am - 5pmSchedule flexibility required; potential for four 10-hour days per week as the clinic grows
