For the right leader, this role offers not just competitive compensation, but also a pathway for future advancement, professional development, and even executive education sponsorship.If you're a proven sales leader ready to break free from red tape and make your mark in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, this is your opportunity.Functional SummaryThe Sales Director is responsible for leading the sales function across all companies associated with CARD Companies, including J&W Asphalt, Hamill Concrete, Ostertag Concrete, and Benchmark Concrete. This role will oversee sales strategy, sales team leadership, and business development. The Sales Director will work closely with ownership, the President, and the Content & Brand Manager to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with sales goals, target markets, and revenue objectives. While not responsible for executing marketing campaigns, this individual is expected to provide input and collaborate on messaging, branding, and lead generation priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans that support short- and long-term company goals.Work directly with ownership and leadership teams to align sales goals with financial objectives.Set KPIs and performance targets for the sales and marketing teams; regularly monitor and report results.Ensure that all sales are achieved and consistently aligned with the overarching business objectives of each company.Sales OversightLead, mentor, and hold accountable all sales personnel across brands.Set territory and industry segment goals for each business.Drive business development efforts in key growth areas (e.g., retail, general contractors, property management/HOAs).Provide input for pricing strategies in collaboration with estimating/project teams.Maintain and grow relationships with top clients and referral sources.Personally pursue and close high-value strategic opportunities.Marketing CollaborationPartner with the Content & Brand Manager on campaigns, target markets, messaging, and branding.Ensure sales feedback and market insights are integrated into marketing efforts.Take an active interest in ensuring marketing activities generate quality leads that drive sales goals.Remain familiar with online marketing concepts (ads, social media, SEO, etc.) at a high level, but not as an executional expert.CRM, Data & ReportingManage CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot) across all brands; ensure high-quality data and usage.Train team members on effective CRM use for tracking leads, forecasting revenue, and managing pipelines.Use data to drive decisions, including ROI on campaigns, win/loss analysis, and sales conversion rates.Regularly report performance metrics to ownership and leadership teams.Networking & Relationship ManagementRepresent the company at networking events, industry conferences, client meetings, and association functions.Organize and attend strategic client events such as dinners, breakfasts, and other engagement efforts.Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and community stakeholders.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field (MBA preferred).Minimum 7-10 years of sales and/or marketing leadership experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or B2B services.Proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of B2B sales, lead generation, and pipeline management.Expertise in CRM software (Hubspot preferred)Data-driven and highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.AbilitiesAbility to lead through influence and hold teams accountable.Confident public speaker and effective networker in business and industry environments.Able to manage multiple companies and priorities simultaneously.Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.Flexible work hours when necessary for client events or strategic meetings.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and project management tools.Working ConditionsOffice environment with regular travel within markets (Twin Cities).May require working outside of regular business hours.
