Join Kelly Government Solutions as a radiologic technologist to serve veterans receiving care at the VA Medical Center in Northport, NY. This full-time role is subject to rotating schedules and ensures that our Veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned through service to our country.DETAILSWork Schedule: 40 hours/week, subject to rotating shifts (days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays).Pay Rate: Starting at $47/hr plus $5.55/hr H&W benefit (depending upon experience and modality)Work Location: Northport VA Medical Center, Northport, NYKEY TASKS(1) Provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes(2) Prepare the patient for radiographic or sonographic procedures by assessing patient's needs and providing pretest patient education, explaining procedures and answering questions(3) Produce radiographic studies that are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by medical officers to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions, or lesions within the body.(4) Experience assisting with fluoroscopy and performing imaging(5) Experience preparing and administering contrast media and medications in accordance with State and Federal regulations.(6) Experience with general x-ray and be responsible for performing a full range of CT exams. This will consist of both contrasted and non-contrasted exams and tracking of reportable CT doses.(7) Knowledge of computerized and digital radiography (CR/DR), and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS); prepare digital images for interpretation by the radiologist(8) Experience with Bone Densitometry (BD)/DEXA examinations on the lumbar spine, hips and forearms.(9) Familiarity with and adhere to all U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines and practice safety measures in radiography, radiation safety, infection control and environment of care.(10) Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy and log data into patient information systems(11) Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images andprotect patient from unnecessary radiation exposure(12) Monitor the patient for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes during the examinationQUALIFICATIONS(1) Graduation from an accredited program in radiologic technology(2) Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the practice of radiologic technology(3) Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); advanced ARRT certifications in CT and/or MR are a plus to support other assignments(4) Possess current, full, and unrestricted license to practice Radiologic Technology in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.(5) Current BLS (America Heart Association) certification(6) Demonstrate high level of customer service to communicate with veterans, family members, and colleagues(7) US citizenship as per contract requirements to complete background check and security clearance processes
