Position: Civil Structural Engineer IIIPay Range: $116,010 - $161,125 based on experienceBenefits: Robust benefits package that includes a 401K plan with employer match, Medical/Dental /Vision Insurance, Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Time Off, and a Tuition Reimbursement.Relocation: assistance available for qualified candidatesLocation: Rockville, MD (DMV area) - onsite - RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLEHours: 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday -FridayWork Site Expectations: 4 days in officeTravel Expectations: 10 %to 25% (as needed for project assignment, team rotation, one week every 6 to 8 weeks starting at the end of the year)Minimum Education/QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related degree from an accredited institution.At least 5 (five) years of experience in an engineering role required.Experience with design of steel structures, concrete structures, or composite structures preferred.Experience with assessing civil/structural engineering phenomena to inform design of buildings and structures.Analytical experience with civil/structural hazard assessment (e.g. by fragility analysis, hand calculations, and/or civil structural design and analysis software programs.)Experience with structural analysis using hand calculations and / or finite element analysis (FEA) software programs (e.g., ANSYS, LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, ADINA, OpenSees) preferred.Proficiency with engineering hand calculations preferred.Job DescriptionOur client is seeking professionals to join the design team in the role of a Civil Structural Engineer. This role is responsible for the development of the plant site layout and civil/structural design for buildings and structures of an SMR Nuclear plant. The role will be responsible for the overall design of multiple civil/structural buildings and structures across the plant site and will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team of other engineers, suppliers, and project stakeholders to coordinate the successful design of the structural buildings and structures. This work is ultimately aligned to support key objectives in developing a design that has advantages in sustainability, economics, reliability, and safety relative to current day power generation units. This role interfaces with various teams, including project controls, engineering, licensing, supply chain, quality, safety, manufacturing, testing, operations, and/or construction functions.
