JDL Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a fast growing Data Centre Developer, who are expanding their leadership team with a Vice President of Environment, Health & Safety, to be based from their head office in Virginia ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with leadership across all departments to set strategies and maintain operational excellence in the EHS programDesigns and deploys EHS processes that demonstrate continuous improvement in EHS stewardshipAnalyzes performance, identifies opportunities, and sets strategies for year-over-year program maintenance and improvementDevelops operational planning and governance processes related to EHS, including policy development, audits, compliance initiatives, government reporting, and identification of best practice initiativesEstablishes key EHS metrics for the company that drive synergies between strategic business objectives and the EHS groupProvides regular reports on the progress toward EHS goals, activities, and results from any regulatory inspectionsSets appropriate staffing and EHS education/training goals for all project teams companywide.Leads global business continuity and emergency response management programMonitors and reports on relevant changes in applicable OSHA and environmental regulations/requirements related to operationsPlays a key role in company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program and serves as lead of the environmental and safety aspectsSupports relationships with customers and other stakeholders for purposes of EHS systems interface and deploymentAssumes EHS operational responsibilities as neededOversight of multiple EHS projects as assigned, potentially globallyRequirementsA bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceCertified Safety Professional (CSP) certificationA minimum of 15 years of experience with a majority of experience in leading EHS in major construction projectsMust have extensive experience with EHS oversight for multiple projects/locationsHighly adept at incident investigations, root cause analysis, and mitigationAbility to put strategy into action and influence across various functions and levels within the organizationInnovative and thrives in a fast-paced, changing environmentSuperior organization skills with the ability to maintain progress against important deadlinesExcellent leadership skills including the ability to train and motivate staff membersAdaptability, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same timeDemonstrated professional verbal and written communication skillsStrong sense of urgency to accomplish tasks on or ahead of schedule while still maintaining qualityStrong technical acumen with the ability to solve problems using analysis, technical and organizational expertiseExceptional attention to detail with a strong work ethic and self-motivationStrong teaming skills; works well with internal and external team members and drives execution through collaboration and networkingAn assertive personality style is needed to ensure that processes are completed and moving on to the next stage of completionProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility and willingness to respond to emails and phone calls after hours in the event of an emergencyAbility and willingness to travel to domestic US and international sites as needed
