This role will be responsible for leading the engineering team and driving operational excellence.This position will ensure successful execution and delivery of products and according to project timelines. This position partners and supports other functional team in driving profitable growth; and the ability support our vision of providing best in industry products to our partners and the end user customers.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvementsDevelop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plansDevelop work methods and layoutsDemonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, low-cost capital solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, Preventative Maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)Solid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions (Process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, control plan) Drive improvement activity.Collaborate with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner inputInterface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.Mentor developing Technicians and interns/Co-opsUtilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM's, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM'sREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.Demonstrated, practical knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.Knowledge of and the ability to use CAD systems.Knowledge of SPC (eg Six Sigma) based techniques to drive continuous improvement projects.Strong team working capabilities.Good communication and inter-personal skills.4-year degree in Engineering 5+ years engineering experience.PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:Willingness to travelStrong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Green or Black Belt certified highly desirable. Strong project management skills and working with a collaborative and cross functional teamStrong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability.
