Job Summary:Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients in various settings, such as long and short-term care, rehabilitation, respite, and memory care for patients. Your primary focus will be to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals by enhancing their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and promoting overall well-being.DutiesAssist patients with ADLs, ensuring they receive the necessary support for daily tasks.Implement treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist, focusing on individualized care.Conduct assessments and document patient progress in accordance with established care plans.Provide therapy services in diverse settings such as geriatrics, pediatrics, inpatient, and outpatient environments.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective care plans tailored to each patient's needs.Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to inform treatment approaches and interventions.Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient status.Ensure compliance with medical terminology and documentation standards within the occupational health framework.QualificationsCertification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory.Familiarity with medical imaging techniques is a plus.Strong understanding of patient care principles related to geriatrics and pediatrics.Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for effective treatment delivery.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.A commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care while fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
