Scope of job: A Project Executive is the person responsible for planning, coordination and control of a construction project from its inception to the time it is complete. A Project Executive is responsible for ensuring that the client's requirements regarding the functionality and standards are met. As well as being responsible for ensuring that the construction project is concluded successfully. The Project Executive usually responsible for dealing with any delays that may happen in the construction site, emergencies or the bad weather that may occur.The Project Executive is charged with bidding the job and distributes documents to the bidders, answers their questions during the bid processing and issues bid addenda if needed to clarify important details. Project Executive evaluates and judges the merits of each other when the bids come in. There is typically a negotiation processed with a successful bidder before a contract is signed that is managed by The Project Executive.During construction, a Project Executive must have thorough knowledge of the trades, crafts and equipment needed to complete the job, plus the ability to identify potential problems. Change orders, or contract changes in scope or quantity, can be caused by plan errors, weatherConditions, and unexpected issues, such as the unavailability of a key component or material.The Project Executive is charged with fairly settling contract issues that arise from changes.A Project Executive is a person who plans and ensures the coordination of construction jobs. A Project Executive has the responsibility of supervising the construction project. A Project Executive ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned. A Project Executive is entitled with the total supervision of all the operations on the site. A Project Executive ensures that the workers are implementing what is on the design plan. A Project Executive monitors the workers and the progress of the project and reports to his employers as well as to the general public. A Project Executive is held liable of any happenings at the construction site and sees to it that the project is complete in time and that the laid down standards are met. A Project Executive's work will either be on commercial of residential projects.Project Executive Duties Include:Planning, directing and coordinating the construction project.Overseeing the entire construction project or part of a project.Scheduling and coordinating all types of design during the construction process.Selecting, hiring, and overseeing the work done by the contractors.Overseeing the construction workers and their immediate supervisors.Ensuring that the project is completed within a specified time.Determine the best source of construction materials.Responsible for scheduling and estimating the time required to complete the project.Oversees the selection of trade contractors and general contractors who are ideal for the completion of a project.Oversees the performance of contractors.Ensuring that the construction work is completed on schedule.Monitoring and directing the progress in the construction site.Oversees the delivery of materials, construction tools and equipment.Ensuring that the construction resources are used well.Ensuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers.Obtaining the necessary licenses or permits.Monitoring the compliance with set regulations.Ensuring that both the health and safety projects plans are implemented.Being on site to oversee all the construction process.Ensuring that the budget is followed in terms of purchasing and wages.Organizing the workers and ensuring that they are performing as required.Recording the total costs for material bought and payments for work done.General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety.Ensuring that the stipulated safety rules and regulations are met.Liaises with the government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety.Follows the project construction process to ensure that it is completed in time.Supervises the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual and that they deliver.Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained.Writing project progress records in liaison with the foreman.Skills and Specifications Ability to superviseAbility to schedule and multitaskKnowledgeable in building and constructionBe a good problem solverBe computer literateMust be attentive to detailPossess good communication skillsMust have good coordination skillsWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors and trades.Education and Qualifications High School DiplomaA degree in Construction Management or Project Management10-15 years project management experience with large commercial projectsPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors and trades.This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.Ability to understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them and to use them effectively. To comprehend language, to understand relationships between words, and to understand meanings of whole sentences and paragraphs. To present information or ideas clearly.Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment between 10-25 lbs.To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 5-20 times daily"To perceive or comprehend by the sense of sight.
