DescriptionThe Director of Neighborhood Program oversees Healthy Neighborhoods Inc (HNI) neighborhoodactivities including support for nonprofit HNI partner organizations and direct provision of services asneeded. This is a leadership position with supervisory responsibility playing a critical role in supportingthe President/CEO with overall organizational strategy and implementation.Roles & ResponsibilitiesPosition provides leadership and oversight over all HNI Neighborhood Programs and participates inestablishing the strategic direction of the organization in conjunction with HNI leadership.Director of Neighborhood Programs establishes and maintains high-level critical relationships with HNIleadership, Board of Trustees, community partners, philanthropic, public sector and other stakeholders.Director of Neighborhood Programs oversees all aspects of HNI Neighborhood Programs including:Supporting neighborhood-based community partners with capacity building activities such as training; developing localized housing and marketing strategies and implementation; assistance with grant-seeking, operational and administrative needs; and general advising as needed.Providing direct support for resident engagement, mobilization and neighborhood improvement activities in HNI neighborhoods.Convening nonprofit partners as a cohort to promote practice sharing and providing advocacy and policy support for relevant issues in coordination with HNI leadership.Supporting neighborhood investment including HNI Loan Pool mortgage products, HNI- and partner-driven capital investments improving neighborhood conditions, and small block-level projects and events building community connectivity.The position supervises a team of Neighborhood Coordinators, interns, fellows and other personnel.Position may also have direct coordination responsibilities for selected HNI neighborhoods asdetermined.Director of Neighborhood Programs supports HNI events and organizational activities as needed.Position Details and LogisticsCompensationSalary is commensurate with experience with anticipated range of $80,000 to $105,000.BenefitsHNI has a competitive suite of benefits including medical, dental, and retirement contributions.Staff receive holidays and more than 20 days of leave annually.Location: HNI Offices located at 11 East Mount Royal Ave, Baltimore City. HNI is currently 50% on site and50% remote work.Hours: 37.5 Hours per week. 9am to 5pm with half hour break. Posi??on may require occasional after-hoursor weekends to support community or HNI ac??vi??es for which Compensatory Time is available.ReportingReports to President/CEO. Position will supervise a team of Neighborhood Coordinators,contractors, fellows, interns or other personnel.ConditionsPosition includes routine office environment and conditions. Position includes significantcomputer usage. Position does not require heavy lifting, routine exposure to inclement weather orhazardous conditions, or the use or handling of hazardous materials.Position RequirementsDirect, successful community engagement and organizing experience, working at community-level,working in public sector, a nonprofit or small-scale organization required.Five years plus of related professional experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibilityand supervisory responsibility strongly preferred.Existing knowledge of community development and urban housing issues is required. Strong knowledgeof neighborhoods, community development and political eco-system and local market conditions inBaltimore City (or of a comparable community with demonstrated ability to develop such knowledge ofBaltimore City) is required.Project management experience and skills needed. Ability to manage overlapping timelines andcoordinate among multiple collaborators is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills required including ability to build relationships andcommunicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.Creativity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and a strong team ethic are needed for success at HNI.Bachelor's degree required.
