AI Engineer, Medical ImagingWe are seeking a Senior level AI Engineer to join our algorithm team as a contractor, focused on developing and optimizing AI models for medical imaging applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in convolutional neural networks (CNNs), experience with embedded system integration, and strong software engineering fundamentals.This position plays a critical role in refining our AI pipeline for intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging. You'll be working alongside an established algorithm team with an existing infrastructure for data collection, training, and deployment. This is a Bay Area-based remote role with occasional onsite requirements (once or twice per month).Responsibilities:Train, evaluate, and optimize CNN-based AI models for medical imaging applicationsPerform hyperparameter tuning and iterative refinement of models using TensorFlow and PyTorchSupport retraining efforts as new data is acquired from hospital partnersIntegrate AI modules into embedded systems (Windows or Linux-based with Intel CPU and small GPU)Collaborate with algorithm, engineering, and regulatory teams to ensure AI models meet technical and compliance standardsAssist in basic image pre- and post-processing using PythonParticipate in design reviews, documentation, and regulatory discussions as neededRequirements:5+ years of experience in AI model development, training, and deploymentProficient with TensorFlow and PyTorchStrong Python programming skills and a solid foundation in software engineeringExperience integrating AI models into embedded environmentsSolid understanding of CNNs and image processing techniquesBackground in medical imaging (e.g., IVUS, ultrasound) is a strong plusFamiliarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO) is a plusExcellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skillsLocation: Pleasanton, CA Hybrid/ 2 Days in office per monthDuration: 4+ months with possibility of extension.Pay Range$65-$85 per hourPlease submit resumes to jobs@No C2C or third party agencies
