You'll have the opportunity to set the standard for excellence, mentor and grow a high-performing team, and drive both the resident experience and the financial success of a flagship community.Job Description:As the Senior Community Manager, you'll do more than oversee daily operations, you'll set the vision for Class A multifamily communities and lead your team to deliver it. This role is both strategic and hands-on, balancing big-picture leadership with the ability to dive into details when needed. You'll cultivate a culture of excellence by mentoring and developing staff, ensuring they have the tools and training to succeed. This includes overseeing completion of all required annual training such as Fair Housing, safety standards, and maintenance protocols, including mold prevention and remediation. By fostering professional growth and operational consistency, you'll not only maximize occupancy and financial performance, but also create a thriving community where residents and team members alike feel valued.Essential Functions:Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of property operations, ensuring excellence in resident experience, financial performance, and team development.Recruit, mentor, and inspire on-site staff, cultivating a positive and high-performing culture.Ensure completion of all annual training requirements, including Fair Housing, safety protocols, and maintenance best practices such as mold prevention and remediation.Oversee and hold teams accountable for occupancy goals, lease-up strategies, and consistent resident retention.Manage and strengthen vendor and contractor relationships, service contracts, and capital improvement projects to protect and enhance asset value.Partner with marketing to drive innovative, property-specific campaigns that highlight the community's strengths.Provide accurate financial oversight through budget preparation, variance analysis, and NOI performance tracking.Monitor competitive market conditions and trends to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a leading market position.Requirements: 7-10 years of progressive experience in multifamily property management.Minimum 5 years of proven success as a Community Manager, including direct leadership of on-site teams.Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams.Strong background in ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, safety, and maintenance training standards.Experience with lease-ups strongly preferred.Oregon real estate license preferred.Industry certifications such as ARM or CAM preferred.Strong financial management and budgeting skills; proficiency in Excel.Experience with property management systems such as Yardi, Rent Café, or MRI.Solid understanding of building systems, maintenance practices, and vendor coordination.Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Experience with ground floor retail is a plus.Why SKB?At ScanlanKemperBard, we pride ourselves on a collaborative culture and a passion for placemaking.
