Project Engineer

Black Diamond Construction is a San Diego based General Contractor, focused on a wide variety of Commercial Tenant Improvements and Common Area Improvements. Our firm is growing and to support our growth we are looking to hire a Project Engineer to be an integral part of our team. We are looking for someone with at least 5-10 years of experience in construction or design industry, and willing to move up the ladder fast into a Project Manager position.ResponsibilitiesAct as a liaison between Project Manager and Field SuperintendentsAssist with planning, administration and management of each projectCoordinate, organize and track the flow of information, drawings, files, permits, submittals and correspondenceInterface with project inspectors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clientsPrepare RFP's and review subcontractors' bids to build a complete EstimateManage RFI's and Submittal LogsPut together schedules with the Project teamDistribute plan changes to the Project team for pricingManage subcontractor change orders and maintain a change order logWork with Field Superintendent on scheduling of subcontractors and material lead timesPrepare Meeting Minutes at project meetingsPrepare Close Out Package at the end of each projectManage Procore project management software dailyQualifications5-10 years of experience in construction management or other related fieldsProficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Excel and Microsoft ProjectKnowledge of various building systems and desire to learn new methodsStrong leadership qualitiesStrong negotiation and communication skillsDeadline and detail-orientedLEED Green Association and OSHA 10 certifications are preferred
