Miller Construction DBA Scott Lawn Yard is seeking an Estimator for Civil Site construction type projects. As part of the estimating team, you will be responsible for identifying quantities, productions, scope details, schedules, relationship building with subcontractors and identifying risks to build an accurate bid to secure projects for Miller Construction. This position requires extensive knowledge of various heavy civil construction activities including earthmoving, site preparation, underground utilities, road construction, and landscaping. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience is the same or related fields, strong time management and attention to details skills. This person will be interacting with various stakeholders to gather and analyze the proper information to ensure estimations are as detailed as possible.Responsibilities:Attend pre-bid meetings as necessarySet up B2W estimate, including project name, and all pertinent information. Identify key subcontractors and suppliers and manage solicitation of said subcontractors during bid stage.Prepare detailed estimate including quantities for labor, equipment, material, trucking and subcontractor items.Review in detail with chief estimator and operations pre bid.Coordinate bid day activities, ensure all bid documents are accurate, and requirements met for submission, delivered on time. If awarded, prepare a handoff meeting with operations team.Requirements:Associate's degree in construction management, or Civil Engineering; (bachelor's degree preferred)5+ Years of paid heavy civil project/field engineering, estimating or management experience is required.Strong organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, specifications, and all regulations regarding environmental work. Effective time management skills and logical decision-making ability are necessary.
