Haugland Group, a privately-owned Long Island, New York-based civil infrastructure and energy construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team.Haugland Group has an immediate need for an experienced Civil Estimator. The Civil estimator candidates must have experience with heavy civil estimating and construction (utilities a plus) and be able to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, takeoffs, crew compositions and productions.At Haugland, we understand that pushing the boundaries of what has been done is essential to develop the infrastructure of tomorrow. We are leaders in building what's next because we see the path to get there and we're setting a new standard of exceptional along the way.Let's build together!Key FunctionsCoordinate and strategize with ownership to identify prospective projects to be added to the bid log.Prepare cost estimates for projects in alignment with the company business model, its strategic goals and industry standards.Analyze bid documents to determine the scope of work and prepare the bid in compliance with Owners' requirements.Set up labor crews, equipment, and productions appropriate to the scope of work involved.Attend pre-qualification events and site visits as required.Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors.Thoroughly review all department estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission.Work with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction functions and change orders.Qualifications5+ years of estimating experience in the civil construction industry.Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or related field.Knowledge of civil construction principles, with the ability to read plans and specifications.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software systems (Accubid, B2W, HCSS, etc.).Ability to work independently to complete estimates or proposals efficiently while meeting firm deadlines.Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.Why Haugland?Compensation range for this role is 150-200k.At Haugland Group, our benefits are designed to convey company culture and values which has employees at its forefront.Compensation highly competitiveWe offer an excellent benefits package including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, short/long term disability and life insuranceWe offer a 401k with 5% employer matchEmployer funded Dependent Care FSAPotential for annual performance-based raisePaid Time OffPaid company observed holidaysEducational and professional advancement opportunitiesFrequent company-sponsored eventsRelaxed, friendly officeFast paced, exciting environmentHaugland Group LLC and its operating divisions, affiliates, related entities, and subsidiaries (collectively, "the Company") do not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or employment agencies.
