We are a passionate retailer that loves to give over the top white glove customer service.Role DescriptionManhattan Denim is looking for an Assistant Store Director to join our team in Manhattan Beach, CA. This is a full-time, on-site role. The Assistant Store Director will be responsible for managing the store, overseeing sales, providing customer service, and training staff. If you are a true retailer at heart Manhattan Denim is for you!We're looking for a leader to develop and uphold the specialty store experience by exuding a warm and beautiful atmosphere where the client feels at home. The director is responsible for generating sales and building customer relationships in our retail store and will have opening and/or closing responsibility. The director will demonstrate high degrees of proficiency to interact with the customers and identify their needs will maximize their sales opportunities. The director will also be responsible for maintaining the visual and housekeeping standards of the store. This will include the receiving of merchandise and presentation to the selling floor, processing of inventories and analytics.ResponsibilitiesAchieve and exceed the personal sales and productivity goalsDemonstrate a complete knowledge of the merchandises' features and benefits to maximize the sales opportunityBe a quick thinker who listens to the customer and can identify his/her needs and overcome objections if raisedResponsible to do client development beyond the initial transaction; utilizing phone, email & written follow-up contact. Ensure team is developing his/her client base with outreach.Maintain the housekeeping and visual standards of the storeHave computer skills to operate the POS register and email systemsSafeguard the store's inventory by adherence to the company's loss prevention programCommunity involvement, join the chamber, create special eventsLead by example and ensuring company policies and procedures are metQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceMenswear , luxury experience preferred5+ years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in a Director of Stores or equivalent roleDemonstrated ability to drive sales growth and improve profitabilityStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience with inventory management and visual merchandisingUnderstanding of retail metrics, financial statements, and KPIsAbility to analyze data and draw actionable insightsFamiliarity with retail technology and POS systemsExcellent time management and organizational skillsIn addition to the above skills, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
