It combines leadership and nursing care with hands-on involvement, ensuring both compliance and heart-driven care.Position Summary:The Director of Clinical Services / Administrator provides overall leadership, direction, and supervision for the hospice program. This dual role ensures compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (42 CFR Part 418), Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR 333-035), and ACHC accreditation standards, while fostering a culture of compassion, excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration and reports to the Executive Director and governing body.This role is responsible for:Overseeing the provision of all clinical hospice servicesManaging daily operations, personnel, and resource allocationEnsuring compliance, quality improvement, and regulatory readinessServing as the organizational leader and liaison with the Governing BodyPatient visits during early censusKey Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership (Director of Nursing / DCS)Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical staff, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and compliance standards are met.Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing and interdisciplinary team members.Ensure initial and ongoing assessment of patients, coordination of care, and implementation of individualized care plans.Lead Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings in collaboration with the Medical Director.Ensure staff education, competency, and performance reviews are conducted per policy.Oversee infection control, medication management, and safety protocols.Administrative Leadership (Administrator Role)Direct day-to-day operations of the hospice program and personnel, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body requirements.Serve as the liaison to the Governing Body, reporting on quality, compliance, staffing, and financial health.Hire, train, evaluate and terminate clinical organization personnel.Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures.Lead the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.Assure compliance with all hospices related local, state and federal laws, including licensure and certification and maintain compliance to the ACHC standardsParticipate in budgeting, census development, and strategic planning.Qualifications:Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in hospice leadershipDemonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional & administrative personnel.Ability to remain calm under pressure, dealing tactfully with customers and the community.Possess excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.Possess knowledge of business management, applicable governmental regulations and ACHC standards as pertains to hospice care in Oregon,Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.Compensation & OpportunityCompetitive pay tiers with salary growth as census expands, DOE.Flexible scheduling and opportunity to shape the program from its foundation.A unique chance to step away from healthcare bureaucracy and lead a hospice program focused on meaning, mission, and peopleApply Today!
