We're seeking a dynamic Business Development professional to drive growth for Ronstan Tensile Architecture across the Eastern United States. This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong sales capabilities to expand our presence in the lightweight tensile architecture market, focusing on structural cables and bars. The goal is to grow revenue, improve profit margins, and increase market share.Learn more about Ronstan Tensile Architecture here: responsibilities include developing new business through specification selling, expanding our account base, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator and problem solver with a solid understanding of construction principles and the ability to recommend tailored building solutions using our established portfolio of tensile cable and bar products.A background in construction or engineering is highly beneficial, and experience working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors is strongly preferred.Specific responsibilitiesTarget and educate architects, engineers and other prospect groups to ensure the specification and incorporation of Ronstan manufactured and distributed products into building specifications.To identify, evaluate, and develop architectural product and project sales opportunities to exceed sales and margin budgets.To listen, interpret and develop workable and buildable product and design & supply project solutions using the Ronstan portfolio of products and services.To pro-actively identify, seek out, and then work with general contractors and sub-contractors tendering on projects where Ronstan products and solutions are specified, converting them into sales opportunities.Respond to leads and RFIs in a manner that ensures all customers receive prompt attention.Prepare quotations, tenders and correspondence to agreed company standards using agreed company templates and software (Eg: Quotewerks)Manage the delivery of architectural products and design & supply projects in conjunction with the Architectural Administrator and Operations Manager.Competencies This role requires a strong understanding of materials and systems used in tensile architecture and structural design, with a focus on solutions relevant to the construction industry.A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical sales/specification environment, with at least 2 being specifically involved in the building industry.Degree qualification in a relevant field - architecture, engineering, project or construction management etc.This role requires effective use of the CRM and quotation systems including Dynamics365 and Quotewerks.Focus on on-going development of technical and selling skills by identifying training opportunities.This role requires a strong working knowledge of MS Excel & Word.ObjectivesEstablish clear business objectives for key and prospective accounts.Provide sales targets, timeframes, and actionable plans tailored to each key customer.Develop and maintain a structured call plan for existing and potential clients.Continuously build product knowledge and strengthen relationships with internal staff, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.Identify and engage Engineers, Architects and Specification Writers involved in tensile architecture applications.Identify Structural Steel Erectors and Metal Fabricators working in tensile architecture.Collaborate with the Customer Service team by providing technical support, customer insights, and complete project details.Strengthen relationships with specialty contractors to support project execution and long-term partnerships.Work with the Marketing team to coordinate promotional activities and trade show participation.Educate and inspire Architects, focusing on applications that can be specified as Ronstan solutions.Leverage web and electronic marketing efforts by:Reviewing and contributing ideas for content.Soliciting images and technical details for project summaries.
