As we continue to grow, our focus is providing quality patient care by adding to our team of clinical and non-clinical professionals that work together in a collaborative manner.JOB SUMMARYIn this role, you will work closely with the anesthesia team including anesthesiologist assistants, physicians, surgical team and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient. You will collaborate with attending anesthesiologists to prepare and administer anesthetic agents, carefully monitor patients' vital signs and bodily functions, and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary throughout medical or surgical procedures.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the direction and supervision of an anesthesiologist, the Anesthesia Assistant administers the prescribed anesthetic to patients in order to desensitize them to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures.Obtains an extensive pre-anesthetic patient health history and performs pre-anesthetic physical examinations. After consultation with the anesthesiologist, the AA may order pre-op evaluations and pre-medications.Establish multi-parameter monitoring prior to anesthesia or in other acute care settings. Modalities include, but are not limited to, ASA Standard Monitors, arterial and venous catheters; may manipulate and interpret data from central venous, pulmonary artery, intracranial catheters and other monitors or devices.Performs initial CPR/ACLS in emergency situations until the supervising anesthesiologist is summoned.Assists in the post-operative care of patients by managing post-op ventilator support and acute pain management in conjunction with existing protocols or the supervising anesthesiologist.REQUIREMENTSCurrent National Commission for Certification of Anesthesia Assistants (NCCAA) certification.BLS, ACLS and PALS2+YRS Experience as CAA - Acute Care setting preferredUnderstanding medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, aseptic technique, infection control measures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.Expertise in patient assessment, physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree and successful completion of a Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited, two-year Anesthesia Assistant program.CERTIFICATION, LICENSURECurrent National Commission for Certification of Anesthesia Assistants (NCCAA) certification.ACLS and PALSKNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
