Day to DayA large engineering company is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to lead major repair and renovation projects at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. The SPM will play a crucial role in the design, sign-off, and execution of engineering and medical facility upgrades, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities include:End-to-end project execution: planning, scheduling, budgeting, reportingManaging subcontractor performance, safety, quality control, and complianceCost-loaded scheduling (Microsoft Project/Primavera P6), documentation (Procore/RMS)Design reviews, constructability assessments, value engineeringContract negotiation and modifications with government personnel and vendorsDirecting and mentoring site staff, performance evaluations, accountabilityCompliance with OSHA, environmental, and quality standardsFinancial forecasting, performance metrics, and reportingOverseeing $30M+ in annual construction revenuePeople management responsibilitiesMust HaveBachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical/business fieldMinimum 10 years' experience managing engineering and medical repair/renewal projectsAt least 5 years in a supervisory positionIn-depth knowledge of federal contracts and government contracting processes (FAR, DFARS)Strong financial acumen, budget forecasting, cost controlAdvanced communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, ProjectsMust pass OSHA 10-hour safety coursePlussesCHC, PMP, CM, or PE certification (preferred)Experience with federal contracts and complianceExperience managing large-scale design-build and design-bid-build projects in engineering and medical facilitiesStrategic mindset, operational strategy development, data analytics
