Location: Minnetonka, MN (onsite)Schedule: 2nd ShiftDuration: 6-Month ContractPay range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hourThe Senior Quality Control Technician is responsible for independently reviewing materials and documentation from both internal manufacturing teams and external suppliers to determine material suitability. This role also supports Quality Engineers with data analysis, system maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory & Inspection ActivitiesWork within a laboratory environment while ensuring cleanliness and proper material handling.Conduct lot release testing, document results, and perform data analysis including basic statistical evaluations.Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials, including specification checks, visual examinations, variable measurements, and disposition of nonconforming items.Assemble sample products for testing as needed.Complete inspection reports, logs, and database entries to maintain accurate quality records.Maintain measurement equipment in operable condition and ensure calibration requirements are met.Quality Assurance & System SupportProvide independent reviews of other technicians' work.Monitor incoming product quality and escalate issues to Quality Engineering or Quality Management.Generate and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and deviation reports.Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities as an owner or contributor.Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, recommending procedure updates, and supporting process enhancements.Assist in developing and refining laboratory procedures in collaboration with engineering teams.Collaboration & LeadershipInterface with suppliers regarding lot release and material quality issues.Facilitate collection of data and information for quality performance metrics (monthly, quarterly, annual).Develop and lead training sessions in areas of expertise.Mentor and provide guidance to other members of the QC team, including onboarding and training new technicians.Support internal manufacturing activities and participate in internal/external audits as assigned.Compliance & Professional ConductAdhere to all relevant company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Maintain up-to-date training records.Demonstrate professionalism in all communications across technical services, R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and management teams.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma required.Additional vocational/technical training (minimum two years) or extensive industry experience (eight years) preferred.Minimum of eight years in a quality control role within ISO and GMP-regulated environments.Skills & KnowledgeStrong problem-solving ability with sound judgment under pressure.Excellent communication skills with proven ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or similar tools for data analysis and trending.In-depth knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR, ISO, QSR, and other relevant regulations and standards.Strong technical background in manufacturing and operations, with the ability to explain quality principles to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Commitment to patient safety and customer satisfaction, with integrity and confidence in decision-making.Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, including light mechanical tasks as needed.
