Role SummaryThe General Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of school modernization projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of educational facility requirements. The Project Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionDevelop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgetsCoordinate design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with educational facility standardsLead pre-construction meetings, site walkthroughs, and progress reviewsOversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractorsTechnical OversightReview architectural and engineering drawings for constructability and complianceEnsure adherence to local, state, DSA codes, including ADA and LEED standardsMonitor quality control and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycleStakeholder CoordinationServe as the primary liaison between school administrators, district officials, architects, engineers, and contractorsFacilitate communication and collaboration among all project stakeholdersProvide regular updates and reports to internal leadership and external clientsContract & Budget ManagementPrepare bid packages and assist with contractor selectionNegotiate contracts and manage change ordersTrack expenditures and ensure cost control measures are in place.Clear understanding of Prevailing wage laws and requirements.School-Specific ConsiderationsSchedule construction activities to minimize disruption to school operationsCoordinate with school staff to ensure safe access and egress during constructionAddress unique challenges of working in occupied school environmentsTypical TasksConduct site assessments and feasibility studiesPrepare and submit permit applicationsMonitor daily construction activities and resolve field issuesMaintain project documentation and logs, including Cost Changes, RFIs, submittals, and punch listsLead final inspections and ensure timely project closeoutQualifications (Optional Section for Job Ad)Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field experience5+ years of experience managing school construction projectsStrong knowledge of design-build and Lease Lease back delivery method.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project)OSHA certification and familiarity with prevailing wage requirementsOffering the following compensation for Project Manager services: ?Two weeks of annual vacation ?Paid holidays. ?Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, after 30 days choice of Blue Shield or Kaiser. ?Company vehicle and gas card, for work-related purposes only or Car Allowance. ?Cell phone expense reimbursement OR a company cell phone ?401k plan, beginning either January or July after the first year of service. currently matches 25% of employee contributions, excluding vacation, sick and bonus pay. ?Discretionary annual bonus, based upon company profitability
