This role is crucial for ensuring accurate project estimates that align with our commitment to quality and efficiency in construction. The position is based in Phoenix, AZ, and involves collaborating with various teams to deliver successful project outcomes.ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects.Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine scope and requirements.Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate pricing.Utilize estimating software such as McCormick for efficient calculations.Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.Monitor project budgets and adjust estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.Participate in the bidding process by preparing bid proposals.Prepare bids/estimates and construction schedules (Electrical for commercial T.I.'s, school TI's and commercial ground-ups)Develop and maintain relationships with clientsMaintain customer satisfactionProvide direction for projectsMaintain control of project costs and project manage those jobsTroubleshoot problems associated with projectsRequirementsProven experience in construction estimating, preferably within electrical construction with at least 5 years experience.Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is essential.Proficient in using estimating software like McCormick; experience with Heavy Bid and Bluebeam is a plus.Excellent negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships effectively.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.Ability to read and understand blueprintsWillingness to travel throughout the valley to jobsites from the main office located at 1920 W. Cheryl Dr. Phoenix, AZ 85021.Basic computer skills in Windows, and fluent using the internet are required. Microsoft word and excel are a mustWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. The employee is also required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions.
