Position OverviewOur client is a privately-held real estate investment and development firm that operates throughout the Greater Washington metropolitan area. Founded in entrepreneurial spirit in 1998, the firm has made over $2 billion of investments across all asset classes on behalf of its principals, institutional partners, and private clients.Our client is currently seeking a senior analyst / associate to join a growing team of development professionals as they manage an active deal pipeline and burgeoning portfolio. This individual will support the execution of various development projects, conducting financial analyses, market research, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of prior experience in real estate development, finance, or a related field, with strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-profile position that will have exposure to all facets of the business, including acquisitions, asset management, and each stage of the development deal cycle. A successful applicant will gain outstanding and well-rounded experience for a career in real estate.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct financial modeling, feasibility studies, and cash flow projections for real estate development projects, including mixed-use, residential, retail, office and industrial properties in Excel and ArgusDraft investment memoranda, reports, and presentations for investor, lender, and internal useAssist with market research, site analysis, and zoning assessments to support investment decisions and development strategiesCollaborate with the development team in managing project timelines, budgets, and vendor and stakeholder relationshipsAssist in the due diligence process and deal closings; communicate with project stakeholders and coordinate transaction checklistsMonitor industry trends, comparable transactions, lease rates, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact project development or decision makingParticipate and take leadership roles as needed at all stages of the deal life cycleQualifications2-4 years of prior relevant experience in real estate development, finance, or related fields (e.g., investment banking, management consulting)Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency with Excel and ArgusDemonstrated interest in real investment/developmentSolid understanding of real estate investment, development, and construction processesKnowledge of key development metrics and terms (ROI, IRR/NPV analysis, JV structuring, etc.) and their application to real estate projectsExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to present complex information clearly and conciselyStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEntrepreneurial mindset, ability to succeed both independently as a self-starter and as a part of a teamAbility to think critically and contribute to strategic decision-makingBachelor's degree, preferably in a related field
