Project Manager - Utilities Location: San Antonio, TXCompensation: $100k - $120k Base + BonusBenefits: $650 p/m truck allowance, phone allowance and company gym membership.Coverage: Medical, dental, eye and 401(k) matchGrowth: Advancement opportunities in a growing companyOur client, a leading general contractor is seeking an experienced Utilities Project Manager (PM) to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of utility projects.The ideal candidate will have a proven background in construction scheduling and will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of utility construction (water, sewer, gas, electrical, or telecom), and excellent communication skills to manage stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage utility projects from inception through completion, including preconstruction planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using software such as Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.Coordinate with field teams, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to align project timelines and resource allocation.Monitor progress against schedules, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective measures.Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.Track project costs, prepare progress reports, and provide regular updates to leadership and clients.Drive safety, quality, and compliance with all utility standards and regulations.Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).Minimum 5+ years of experience managing utility construction projects (water, sewer, gas, telecom, or electrical).Proficiency in project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure design and construction practices.Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on schedule and within budget.Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make timely decisions.Preferred SkillsExperience with municipal, or utility projects.Familiarity with estimating, cost tracking, and project controls.OSHA certification or equivalent safety training.
