With a longstanding reputation for safety, quality, and innovation, we are committed to delivering exceptional value and service to our clients.Job Summary:The Commercial Estimator for Burns & Scalo Roofing Ohio will be responsible for working with the sales team to gather information regarding potential contracts and utilize previous experience and knowledge to calculate a cost to complete the project. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly familiarize themselves with the scope of work and contract details in order to successfully be awarded the contract. Strong communication skills are a must as this position will need to communicate with the sales team, the project team, and the client on a regular basis.Position Duties and Responsibilities:Work hand-in-hand with in-house sales and operations departments to provide customers with detailed and accurate roof measurements, estimates, and proposalsMaintain a complete understanding of all contract information prepared and presented by the companyResponsible for preparing proposals, including comprehensive outline of work to be performed along with bidding information, forms, drawings, and digital photosResponsible for any in-progress work order changes, approvals, submittals, and project close-out to ensure customer satisfactionWillingness and ability to learn and utilize new software when neededAct as a liaison to the sales and operations department to ensure a proper hand off from sales to operations to provide the best customer experience possibleProvide roofing information - price, quality, point of sales materialAble to adapt to changing requests in a timely and professional mannerStrong relationship management skills that will both win new work and win repeat work from existing customers and clientsAdditional duties and responsibilities as assignedJob Qualifications:Minimum of two (2) years successful estimating experienceStrong proficiency in ability to take roof measurements, read architectural drawings, interpret schedules and bid data, and enter information into estimating programsTime management, attention to detail, and organizational skillsCapable of working independently or within a teamAbility to understand company safety policies and how they affect the estimation and bid processesPossess robust computer and technical skills and the ability to learn and administer functions in company software systemsStrong and effective communication and presentation skills (written and oral)Physical demands include climbing ladders, walking, sitting, bending, lifting, and kneeling as needed to complete essential job functions (as needed)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferredRoofing or construction industry experience a plusPrevious experience with Sage300 (TimberLine) and MasterKey a plusBenefits:15 days of Paid Time Off per year401(k) with a company matchHealth insuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceEmployee assistance programLife insuranceHoliday payLong Term DisabilityShort Term DisabilityEligible for Bonus Pay
