Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our fast-growing medical billing organization. This senior-level position will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and implementing robust accounting processes and controls to support our expanding business operations.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & ReportingOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analysesEnsure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting to senior managementCoordinate external audit processes and manage relationships with external auditorsProcess Development & ImplementationDevelop, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, procedures, and controlsLead and streamline client invoicing (AR) and AP processesDesign and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures manualLead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracyEstablish and monitor key performance indicators for accounting operationsSystems & ControlsImplement and maintain robust internal controls and compliance proceduresOversee accounting systems implementation, upgrades, and optimizationEnsure proper segregation of duties and authorization protocolsLead system integration projects and evaluate new accounting technologiesTeam LeadershipManage and develop accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance managementProvide guidance and mentorship to accounting team membersFoster a collaborative and high-performance team environmentVendor Management: Manage relationships with external technology vendors and outsourced bookkeepersDevelop vendor evaluation processes.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with GAAP, healthcare industry regulations, and internal policiesMaintain knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and revenue recognition standardsCoordinate with legal and compliance teams on regulatory mattersManage tax preparation and compliance activitiesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA PreferredMinimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory roleStrong experience in developing and implementing accounting processes, systems, and internal controlsExtensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsProficiency in accounting software and ERP systemsAdvanced Excel skills and financial modeling capabilitiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesProven ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsExperience with healthcare industry accounting, preferably medical billing operationsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matchingLife insurancePaid time offEmployee assistance programProfessional development opportunitiesCareer advancement potential in a growing organizationSalaryThe salary range for this position is $180-225k, commensurate with experience.
