Facilities Manager

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well- functioning. This position is responsible for Tangent's office and manufacturing building in Montgomery along with the surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency can set you apart among our candidate pool.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops maintenance policy and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standardsInspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovationsReview utilities consumption and strive to minimize costsEnsures facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, and that work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines.May oversee contractors engaged for facility renovation projects.Oversees the maintenance of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractorsControl activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.Allocate office space according to needsPerforms other duties as assigned.RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESProactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant positionWell-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practicesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE5+ years facilities management experienceBSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field preferredRelevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantagePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to sit, stand and walk long distances dailyAbility to lift 25 lbs
