The Senior Billing Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing processes within a nonprofit environment. This position is responsible for overseeing billing operations, ensuring adherence to funding requirements, grants, and contracts, and providing support to the Finance team with reconciliations and reporting. The Senior Billing Specialist will act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior staff, and work cross-functionally with program, development, and administrative teams to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.Key Responsibilities:Prepare, process, and review invoices for grants, contracts, services, and other funding sources in compliance with organizational and funder requirements.Oversee billing schedules to ensure timeliness and accuracy.Maintain accurate records of billing transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations.Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, funding agreements, and government regulations.Work closely with program staff to gather supporting documentation for billing and reporting.Reconcile billing accounts with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.Generate billing and revenue reports for management and funders as required.Support external audits by providing accurate and timely documentation.Mentor and support junior billing staff; provide training and guidance as needed.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Qualifications:Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of billing experience, preferably in a nonprofit or grant-funded organization.Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, fund accounting, and grant/contract compliance.Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, or similar).Skills:High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.Problem-solving skills and initiative to improve billing processes.BCC/CCC is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
