Stevens Engineers & Constructors has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Pipe Fabrication Shop Manager. The ideal candidate will have pipe fabrication experience in industrial construction markets. The Pipe Fabrication Shop Manager's position is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and management of the pipe fabrication shop. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and accurate production of industrial piping and related components in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, budget, and schedule. The manager supervises shop personnel, coordinates with estimators and project managers, as well as implements process improvements to maximize productivity and profitability. This is a perfect career opportunity to join an experienced group of professionals that are committed to providing our customers with quality results.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirects and oversees all daily fabrication shop activities, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet project timelines.Coordinates with estimators, project managers, and field personnel to interpret blueprints, isometrics, and technical specifications for accurate fabrication.Manages inventory control for raw materials (pipe, fittings, valves, etc.), consumables, and tools. Place orders to ensure materials are available for production while minimizing waste and controlling costs.Develops and implement standard operating procedures for fabrication processes, including cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly.Oversees the preventative maintenance and repair of shop equipment and machinery. Enforces and upholds all company and industry safety protocols (e.g., OSHA), conducts regular safety audits, and facilitates providing training to ensure a safe working environment.Implements and manages a robust quality control program to ensure all fabricated products meet project specifications and industry codes (e.g., ASME, ASTM).Conducts regular inspections of work in progress and finished products.Tracks and documents any non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Manages staffing levels, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.Schedules and assigns daily tasks to personnel, monitoring performance and productivity.Ensures that labor hours are tracked, allocating them accurately to specific jobs.Coordinates logistics for delivery of finished materials to jobsites, working with logistics and Equipment Yard personnel.Maintains accurate shop documentation, including production reports, material certifications, and test packages. Required SkillsIn-depth knowledge of fabrication processes, welding procedures (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW), and industry-specific piping codes and standards.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, isometrics, and project specifications.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and personnel effectively.Proficiency with relevant software, such as MS Office Suite and construction management, estimating or fabrication software (e.g., Vista, Project Site, InEight, Fast Pipe, AutoCAD, Spool Fab, preferred).Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction, welding certifications (e.g., AWS CWI), or trade credentials.Computer Proficiency - Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook).Equal Opportunity EmployerStevens Engineers & Constructors, Inc., is an equal opportunity employer.
