Greenhills School, an independent day school seeks a warm, resourceful, and highly organized Lower School Administrative Coordinator to provide daily care and support for children in our PreK-5 Lower School (currently called our Summers-Knoll campus) which will soon serve approximately 100 students and continue to grow over the coming years. This position is at the heart of the Lower School community, and collaborates closely with a tight-knit Lower School Office team including the Head of Lower School and Office Manager. The Administrative Coordinator is both a steady, compassionate presence for young children and a skilled professional who ensures the program runs smoothly and efficiently. The role calls for someone who can pivot gracefully between administrative responsibilities and student needs"”whether comforting a child, helping to manage a minor crisis, or supporting teachers and families with clear, timely communication.The ideal candidate will be someone who loves working with children, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the professional skill to balance both the people-centered and organizational sides of this work. Prior experience as an elementary educator is strongly preferred; however, we also welcome candidates with relevant child-facing experience and the willingness to learn.Greenhills School at the Summers Knoll Campus is seeking a diverse mix of talented people who want to join us as student centered educators and role models. Areas of emphasis, however, are likely to include the following:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLower School Office responsibilities from 10:00am-2:45pm:Assist in the daily functioning of the Lower School Office; support students with daily requests or more significant social-emotional challenges; support faculty and staff with material and moral supportMaintain clear lines of communication with students, teachers and parents; connect them with appropriate resources and information and with the Head of Lower School as neededPlan events, including but not limited to parent teacher conferences days, parties, readings, field trips (including bus coordination)Supervise students in Young 5s/Kindergarten to 5th grade for lunch and recess dutyAttend professional development days and faculty meetingsPerform other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower SchoolAftercare Responsibilities from 2:45pm-6:00pm: Maintain a positive and supportive environment play-based environment for students, addressing any behavioral issues as they arise and fostering a sense of community and belongingSupervise, mentor and provide guidance to the staff of Aftercare Attendants; ensure adherence to school policies, child safety requirements, and program quality expectationsCoordinate Aftercare staff schedules and arrange substitute coverage Serve as a role model in maintaining appropriate standards of care for students and maintaining healthy boundaries in student and professional relationships.Serve as the primary point of contact for parents during AftercareOrder supplies and serve as Aftercare program budget managerAnalyze and monitor trends in Aftercare program enrollment, attendance, and participant feedback to identify patterns, anticipate needs, and make data-driven recommendations to inform program planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvementSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDUndergraduate degree required.Minimum of 2 years in elementary teaching or other child-facing role (e.g. after-school, camp or youth program); administrative experience at the elementary level is preferredWillingness to complete a 30 hour administrative training with MiRegistry, if neededCPR / First Aid certification (Greenhills School will provide if needed)Committed to supporting and developing a diverse and inclusive communityThe ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in the field and will be:a student-centered educator, skilled in motivating studentsknowledgeable about young children's physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development and willing to positively greet the challenges and opportunities they present.detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills,an excellent oral and written communicator,ability to work independently as well as within a team-oriented environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork is conducted primarily in our outdoor space and in inclement weather indoors.
