Our agency is seeking a courageous and intelligent individual to fill the role of Uniformed Division Officer. As a member of our diverse team, you will be responsible for protecting The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area. Providing protection for high-profile individuals and locations requires a strong sense of duty and responsibility. Traveling in support of presidential and vice presidential missions will provide opportunities to work with government officials and other stakeholders. Enforcing protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A will require a deep understanding of federal law enforcement procedures. To be successful in this role, you must possess a current valid U.S. driver's license and be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment. Additional requirements include carrying and using a firearm, maintaining firearm proficiency, and possessing uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Applicants must also be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid and submit to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while occupying the position. A comprehensive training program consisting of 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role. Finally, certifying that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so is required for all male applicants born after December 31, 1959.
