We"re searching for an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee our AP operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in all vendor transactions. This role is key to maintaining strong financial controls and optimizing payment processes for large-scale construction projects.You will be responsible for leading the AP team, managing vendor relationships, implementing process improvements, and ensuring smooth month-end close operations. This is a hands-on role for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the AP team, overseeing day-to-day invoice processing and payment workflows. Monitor and maintain the shared AP inbox, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices. Develop and enforce AP policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls. Oversee vendor management, including W9 collection, payment setup, credit applications, and resolving payment disputes. Manage invoice approvals, payment processing, and check runs to ensure accurate and timely payments. Monitor cash flow impact of AP and ensure proper scheduling of vendor payments. Track and optimize vendor discounts, ensuring the company maximizes cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with accounting leadership to support financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Train and mentor AP staff, improving processes and ensuring alignment with best practices. Oversee credit card and virtual payment processing, ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase efficiency.Ideal Candidate: Proven leadership experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of AP processes, general accounting principles, and financial controls. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a problem-solving mindset. Excellent communication skills for working with vendors, internal teams, and leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Formulas) and construction accounting software (SAGE 300, Sage Paperless, HCSS) is a plus.
