Benchmark can provide specialized engineering services, including product design, printed circuit board layout, prototyping, automation and test development. We believe that we have developed strengths in the manufacturing process for large, complex, high-density printed circuit boards as well as the ability to manufacture high and low volume products in regions such as China, Malaysia, Mexico, Romania and Thailand.Perform diversified general maintenance activities, at various levels of complexity, referring to blueprints and drawings for the machinery plan and perform the machining operations.Responsibilities: Level I-II Set up and operate lathes, millers, shapers, grinders, planers and power drillsWork from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructionsPerform highly diversified machining operations, such as boring, turning, facing, reaming, grinding, milling and taperingPerform work on machined parts, forgings and castings, which are of varying degrees of complexity in mature and critically dimensionedDetermine and maintain the proper operational sequences at all times, make all necessary mathematical calculations to complete the jobDetermine the appropriate feeds and speeds for all operationsCheck own work; Usually work to tolerance of +/- .00005Read and interpret complex blueprints and manufacture parts from a layout drawing without use of sketches or verbal instructions, making all necessary mathematical calculations to complete the job according to the drawingBench work, including any necessary operations such as filing, de-burring, grinding, lapping, indexing, scraping and fitting, in order to complete mechanical assemblies from crude sketches, verbal instructions or work samplesCheck own work by making set-ups and interpret gauges, electro-limit gauges and size blocksOccasionally make decisions as to fits and tolerances Level II Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed aboveSet-up, operate, alter, repair and plan own workPerform complex checking and interpret results of own work by setting up and operating instruments such as air gauges, electro-limit gauges and size blocksUsually work to tolerances of +/- .001 +/- .0005All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.Position MeasurementsPosition performance may be measured from a combination of Corporate and Divisional Balanced Score Card Goals which will include but not limited to Financial Performance, Customer Satisfaction, Operational Excellence and Employee Focus.Individual position performance goals may be specific to the position, business segment or as it related to an individual's contribution or employment within the organization.Position Qualifications Level I-II Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formUnderstanding of manufacturing systems and tooling developmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skillsEffective interpersonal skillsEffective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as requiredEffective organizational and prioritization skillsDemonstrate high attention to detailDemonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the companyAbility to support a 24/7 global business operation as requiredAbility to work overtime when neededAbility to work with diverse groupsParticipate in a continuous improvement activitySee job analysis forms for specific physical stressors of the job Level I 2-year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management0-3+ years of experience in machining operations Level II 2-year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management6+ years of experience in complex machining operations; May include CNC programmingOther information:Benchmark considers this a safety-sensitive position.Education: 2-year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive managementGeographical Location: Arizona: TempePhysical Location: Tempe, AZ - Southern AveShift: Shift 8, 2Work Schedule: F-Su 0600-1800 or M-F 3:15 - 11:45Full TimeExport Control: This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws.
