Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is a leading provider of cryogenic pumps, heat exchangers, process systems, turboexpanders, services, and solutions for the liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied hydrogen (LH2), and industrial gases industries. We are a subsidiary of Nikkiso Company Ltd, a leading industrial manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with $1.5 B USD in annual revenue, 8000 + employees worldwide, and publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.Nikkiso Fueling & Solutions division designs and constructs alternative fuel stations for fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG) and hydrogen (H2). Typical projects involve reinforced concrete mat foundations, installation of 45 ft. vertical or horizontal storage vessels, cryogenic and high pressure systems, ASME B31.3 pipe welding, process system installation, and hazardous area (CL 1 Div. 1 & 2 Group B or D) electrical work. We have an immediate need to grow our team and are looking for a Certified Welding Inspector to support our large scale commercial projects in the rapidly growing alternative fuel market. Our projects are typically design/build projects. We self-perform all engineering and specialty construction. Because we have a reputation of getting the job done, we are requested to do unique, one-of-a-kind projects.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:All Duties/Skills/Responsibilities of a Senior TechnicianEnsure that the fabricated steel will fit as planned, meets customer specifications, and inspections are completed as required to support workflow and sequenceWorking knowledge of AMSE B31.1 Process Piping and Pressure Vessel code, NFPA - 59A codes and standards, and API - 1104Ensure that accurate documentation is maintained on every project. Is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager in administering the ASME programEnsures that all production-related employees understand and follow applicable ASME standardsWork closely with Production Supervisors, Engineers, and customer representatives to determine appropriate courses of action for resolution of defectsCommunicates with fabrication employees dailyProvides assistance and/or training where appropriate, assists in counseling employees on improving quality through the Production ManagerAssists in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective mannerCarries out new project specificationsManages welder certification program and ensures welders are tested per contract specificationMonitors established non-destructive testing programs, both internal and outsourcedMonitors internal testing program to include training, testing, and that NDT technician standards are met and documentedKeeps current on industry trends, innovations, and changes that may affect how we manufacture and service our products.Maintain safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.Ability to write and communicate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) per code requirementsThe listing of duties and responsibilities shall not be held to exclude other duties not mentioned that are of similar kind or level of difficultyEducation:Associates degree in Welding Technology or related field preferredCurrent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (API 1104 and ASME BPVC Section IX Process (B31.3) Piping preferred), or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hireLevel II MT, PT, UT certifications preferred, but not necessaryFive or more recent years' experience in process pipe fabricationAbility to read and interpret drawings and Weld symbolsIn depth understanding of blueprint drawing and shop drawingsAdvanced math skillsHave professional demeanor and appearanceAble to analyze complex problems and contribute to generating solutionsDeal effectively with time pressures, long hours, rapidly changing priorities, and stressPossess a valid driver's license and be insurable to drive (may require some travel to job site)Must have a good track record of conducting business honestly and ethicallyStrong computer literacy skills with MS Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)Excellent organization and communication skills - both written and oralEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledNikkiso CE&IG is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
