Conveyor Belt MechanicThe Conveyor Belt Mechanic is responsible for placing the upmost importance on working safely and always maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others.Responsibilities:Effectively maintain plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing conveyor belt/systemLearning to balance other distribution center equipment at the FreshDirect CampusExecute the plant preventive maintenance programProficient with conveyor system machinery to support the maintenance team and/or train others as neededStrong working knowledge of all facets of electrical controls and proceduresEducation and Qualifications4-6 Years of experience as conveyor belt and/or system mechanic/technician requiredTechnical education related to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration is requiredSafely operates various shop related equipmentLay out and construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematicsDiagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipmentMechanical experience with varied kitchen and distribution center machineryRead and understand electrical schematics and blueprintsWorking knowledge of three phase motors and control circuitsOSHA safety certification is a PLUSMust be able to lift 50 poundsIn a work day: standing/walking 8-12 hoursHand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingWork requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reachingExposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicalsConstant exposure to temperatures: Ability to work in a wet and cold environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as neededSchedule:Monday to Sunday , and 24 hour coverage Note: The hourly wage is $40 an hour .
